Today was a day of two very important firsts since moving to DC.
1. It was my first official day of work. It felt very surreal almost like I was at Disneyland or playing pretend. It was just so adorable to get all dressed up in "work clothes" and walk to this mysterious ride called the "metro". I had to fight back the laughter as I realized for everyone else this is a very normal thing to do where as for me it still feels like a novelty. A novelty I totally love.
2. My first happy hour with friends after work. Obviously another very important first in my new world. Especially when it is not only an opportunity to be social but also to meet new people. Tonight I met a really cool girl who happens to also be from LA and work two floors above me. We already have plans to hang out on Sunday and watch the Laker game.
So overall, a good day

(p.s. some people were probably laughing at you too as you don't exactly hide your excitement too effectively) did you take a picture? what did you wear? if you didn't take a picture that was a personal insult to me... fyi
